This watercolour by His Majesty King Charles III was created when he was HRH The Prince of Wales in 1989. The painting captures the magnificent landscape of Windsor Castle.
The Royal Family has been associated with Windsor Castle since the reign of Henry I (1100-1135), who had domestic quarters there, and it has been continuously occupied by the monarchy since. While monarchs have lived there throughout history, Queen Elizabeth II moved to Windsor Castle permanently in 2022 as her primary residence
