'The Duke Of Wellington' By Lawrence Mug

This magnificent portrait of the Duke of Wellington was painted by Sir Thomas Lawrence in 1814 and the original masterpiece hangs in Apsley House in London. Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington, was an Anglo-Irish general and statesman, victor of the Battle of Waterloo and twice British Prime Minister. As commander of the allied armies and with the help of Prussian forces, he defeated Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo in June 1815.

In honour of Wellington's triumphs and as a commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo, Halcyon Days have reproduced this exquisite work of art onto a beautiful English fine bone china mug.
